Eye Clinic


Division objectives.

  • To provide quality clinical eye care services, optometric and prosthetic service.
  • To reduce the backlog of contract patients needing operation in Khomas, surrounding district and regions.
  • To provide technical support to other health regions and duties.
  • To provide diagnostic and therapeutic equipment’s for WCH.
  • To develop the capacity of ophthalmic staff at WCG.
  • To improve efficiency and staff performance at WCH ophthalmic services and staff from different clinics /HK in Khomas District.
A Brief description of your services.
  • This clinic is Referral clinic from all other regions.
  • This is the National referred eye care service
  • We provide diagnostic and clinical and surgical service.
  • We provide ocular prosthetic services at the unit level.
  • If conduct a mini surgical project in WCH of conduct continuous monitoring and quickly control of post cataract visual outcome.
  • Develop a national cataract control program
  • If provided/conduct of monthly outreach surgical visit to selected district hospital.
  • This clinic serves /provide/conduct the outreach services to offer regions for screening diagnosis treatment and diagnosing and referral system.
Requirement (what is it require from whoever wants to receive that service)
  • Any Namibian and Non-Namibian client is required to provide her/his identify document to determine when is reached age 60.
  • They need  MOHSS health passport
  • The under 60yrs old need to pay the screen
  • Over 60yrs patients do not pay
  • All paying are needed to be booked.

Annual Time Table

  • Whole year; we see all patients
  • As from MAY-SEPTEMBER – We conduct cataract surgical project to different regions.
  • Jan-November: we conduct (screening, days, referral) outreach services to the regions where there are no eye care service.
