Club foot is a deformity in which an infant s foot is turned inward often so severly that the bottom of the foot faces sideways or even upward, approximately one infant in every 1000 live birth will have clubfoot, making it one of the more common congenital foot deformities.

How is the clubfoot treated?
Ponseti Method: is used as a golden standard for clubfoot treatment. It’s effective and inexpensive with good long term result. Ponseti method is divided in two phases:
- Corrective phase
- Maintanance phase
Incidence of club foot is around 1 in 1000 live birth every year.
Prevalence of neglected club foot is high if treatment not initiated within 7daya after birth.
What cause clubfoot
Researchers are still uncertain about the cause of clubfoot. The most widely accepted theory is that club foot is caused by a combination of genetic and environment factors, what is known, however, is that there is an increased risk in families with a history of clubfeet.
